Mordorée is a domaine at the top of its game. Their Côtes-du-Rhône, a kitchen sink blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan and Counoise, is an animal. An aggressive, imposing animal that happens to taste really good. The wine is packed with black currant and blackberry jam aromatics, shows solid acidity, and fine tannins, and finishes off with a lingering, sweet touch of violet. Drink this one now (after a few minutes in the decanter or the glass), or lay a bottle or two down for a few yeas. This is one of those rare, cellar-worthy wines that will set you back less than 20 bucks!
