Story:

This is a really unique blend from the guys at Brack Mountain Wine Company in California. Brack Mountain is a thriving winery is located in the Russian River Valley. Their winemaking team is committed to producing elegant wines that reflect their region, vineyards and climate by working with growers dedicated to sustainable practices, sourcing from Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Anderson Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands. The fruit for the A la Carte is sourced from two different vineyard sites – Dommen Valley in the RRV and Foxhill in Mendocino.

Tasting:

This is a blend of 50% Zinfandel, 25% Dolcetto, and 25% Carignan. It gives off very fruity aromatics, blackberry, Concord grape, and blueberry. It’s medium-bodied and juicy with fine tannins. Flavors of black raspberry and blackberry are snappy and bright – it’s so very drinkable with a refreshing 13.3% alcohol, it’s not too heavy but still delivers oodles of flavor. This wine is an excellent partner with Slow Cooker Cuban Sandwiches – salty and meaty meats fruity and juicy.

More:

The blend of Zin, Dolcetto, and Carignan is a unique one to say the least. Zinfandel is known for it’s big fruit, brambly blackberry and low tannic structure. Carignan tends to be more highly structured, offering bolder tannin and acidity. Dolcetto produces soft-styled, fruity wines with low acidity. Together it seems they bring out the best in each other.
