Dedalus Wine

Building A Wine Community

We don’t just pay lip service to the idea of community. For us, a vibrant, engaged wine community is a necessity. That’s why Dedalus is where its at when it comes to wine events in Vermont. We love to put wine drinkers together. We also love to put wine in context, to drink it with food, share the wines that excite us, and we love to help people dial in to their tastes. So, weather we’re pairing Bouillabaisse with Rosé or tasting the dirty, delicious wines from the southern Rhone, there’s always something happening at Dedalus.

Check back here to keep tabs on our wine dinners, Cosmic Wine events, and free in-store tastings.

Awwwww yeah - southern hemisphere battle royale! This class drops the hammer on all of that terrible industrial juice from down under that you're so fed up with. Despite what all those neon-labeled, varmint-sporting wines might have you thinking, Australia and New Zealand are home to fantastic, small production wineries bottling fresh, delicious, terroir-driven juice. There are still great stories to be told by the wines from this part of the world. Help us uncover them - just in time for all that summer drinking. Dedalus Wine Shop and the Vermont Wine School are partnering to take wine education to the next level. In this series of five classes, we're going to dig in to terroir - from France to New Zealand. We'll taste wine from regional rock stars in the Languedoc to the hallowed crus of Cote Roti and Cornas in the Northern Rhone. All of our classes are held at l'Amante on College Street. Kevin Cleary of the Vermont Wine School is teaching them all. Kevin holds the prestigious Diploma in Wine and Spirits from Wine & Spirits Education Trust. You won't find wine classes this good anywhere else in Vermont. [...read more]

Do you want to understand terroir? Would you like to finally experience the essence of a place in a bottle of wine? This is where it's at. Perhaps with the exception of the great vineyards of Burgundy, now two regions in the world are as demonstrative of distinct character as Cornas and Cote Roti. Separated by only 35 km, these two appellations produce totally distinct, beautiful wines with roughly the same varietal makeup. This is the apex of Syrah - as good as it gets. Take this class and you'll find two new regions to worship. Dedalus Wine Shop and the Vermont Wine School are partnering to take wine education to the next level. Bordeaux - for many an old-school wino this is the apex of wine. The right bank of the Gironde estuary is said to be home to the greatest merlot vineyards in the world - and some of the most expensive, iconic wines find their origins here (Petrus - at $30K, anybody want to spilt a bottle?). Is there a challenger to the throne? You bet - Washington state may be home to the greatest Merlot terroir in the world. Take this class and help us decide who wins the 2012 Merlot Rock-Off!
