Story:

Bubbles for the holidays – it’s pretty much necessary – and I personally can’t get enough sparkling wine, holidays or otherwise. The Petit Royal is a blend of 70% Molette and 30% Altesse, indigenous grapes from the Savoie region of France. It is made using the same méthode traditionnelle production techniques as Champagne. The bottles are stocked on their sides for two years before release, giving the wines complexity, beautiful aromatics, and fine frothy bubbles.

Tasting:

This Alpine sparkler has remarkable aromatics that swirl delightfully from the glass. Wildflowers, dried apricots and red clover honey with a yeasty quality like baking bread. It’s dry and bright on the palate with plenty of refreshing acidity and a toasty note. It’s an ‘any night of the week’ bubbly and enjoys being paired with anything salty and is wonderful with hors d’oeuvres. Try it with Soy and Sriracha Deviled Eggs.

More:

The village of Seyssel is in the Savoie region located in the French Alps near the Swiss border. It has a history of viticulture dating back centuries. Despite their elevation, vineyards in the Savoie region enjoy a surprisingly warm microclimate due to the southern/southeastern sun exposure and the moderating effects of nearby rivers and lakes.
