From the Douro region of Portugal, this wine is made from the blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz grapes. This is an area with a Mediterranean climate, hot in the summer months and cold in the winter. Records date back to the 8th century that show the very harsh conditions are only really suited for vines, olives, and almonds.
The Carm is fresh on the nose. Pleasant floral smells with fresh raspberries and other fresh fruit really come out of the glass. Once in the mouth, a taste of raspberries mixes with cola and fresh fruit to develop into a quick drinker with a medium finish. This wine sees some oak, but the fruit flavors are really the show.
This wine is better with a little food. Try pairing with a rich pasta with red sauce and garlic.
