The Hill of Corton is a landmark in the northern portion of the Côte de Beaune, a prow that both red and white vineyards climb up the sides, and capped with a “wig” of woods…it is the highest elevation in the Côte d’Or. Nearly all of the vineyards are of Grand Cru status.
The Guillemot vignerons are eight generations in length, producing wine that epitomize the local terroir and emphasize grace and elegance over power and structure. High-toned cherry and almond extract, vanilla and medicinal herbal essences make for a riveting nose, and the palate impression that follows is pungent and piquant, with crushed stone and cherry pit.
Why should you buy some of this wine? Grand Cru wines from this area generally cost over a hundred bucks. This one is reasonably less than that, and if you are a wine club member, it becomes a bargain! It is great now…will continue to be so for another decade or so. We have a limited supply…pick one up while it is still available.
