You simply cannot get a better bottle of Burgundy for under a hundred bucks than the Guillemot’s family best cuvèe from the Serpentières vineyard. Young or old, it always delivers everything we love about Burgundy, no more, no less. It’s fresh and youthful today, but will live for decades in the cellar.

Guy Breton is one of the “Gang of Four”, known for using more traditional methods of vinification. He excludes pesticides and uses little to no sulfur dioxide. This wine is made from vines 35-100 years old, grown on a bed of shallow stoney soil - creating a lush, red fruited Beaujolais driven by minerality.

We’re happy to share that we’ve got our hands on a few bottles from Vincent Giraudon so that you can get a glimpse of what this little-known area is all about. Vincent farms a tiny parcel and vinifies with his good friend Romain Paire, whose Domaine Pothiers is one of the most visible reference points for the Côte Roannaise. He’s a young winemaker drawing eyes back to the region with his minimal intervention approach and elegant results.

This declassified white comes from old Aligoté vines farmed organically and biodynamically. It’s rare to find the variety here: if any white is planted, it’s usually Chardonnay or Viognier. But Vincent had conviction that his soils would be perfect with Aligoté. The tiny parcel (just half a hectare) yields uncommonly delicious wine that is audacious and alive, with evocative orchard fruit aromas and a balanced body thanks to 10 months aging on the lees.

Delicious, drinkable Gamay gets a stony mineral backbone from the granite studded soils of Côte Roannaise. This is classic Gamay through a crisp new lens — it’s pure pleasure to drink, and reminds us of the audacious, natural Beaujolais winemakers we know and love. Bright violets and berries jump out of the glass.
