Up-and-coming vigneron David Duband inherited vines in the humble Hautes Côtes de Nuits appellation of Burgundy. Determined to make a name for his family domaine, he quickly rose to notoriety for the quality and expressiveness of the wines he made, even in his relatively humble terroir. Happily, he’s since gained access to some higher-level vineyards, and his winemaking expertise shines through in them. Duband’s Pinot Noirs are full, yet elegant, structured, yet silky. They are quickly being recognized as some of the highest quality in all of Burgundy.
Duband’s 2014 Nuits-St-Georges is deep with black fruits, baking spices, and Burgundian earth. Delicious to drink today along with roast chicken, this villages wine will blossom in the cellar if you have the patience.
