Guillaume’s 2014 Puligny ‘Nosroyes’ is gorgeously vibrant, showing notes of lemon curd and granny smith apple alongside gripping suggestions of chalky minerals and white florals. This cuvée is a testament to the excellent whites produced in 2014. Delicious today with a decant, this Puligny will easily outshine its price tag given cellar time.
Though this storied domaine has produced top-tier white and red Burgundy for generations, it was only under winemaker Guillaume Lavollé’s watch that thrust Génot-Boulanger in the conversation alongside names like Roulot and Lafon. It can be a fruitless endeavor for Burgundy lovers to find chiseled, precise expressions of Chardonnay like those crafted by Guillaume, let alone at reasonable prices. These are among our most cherished and accessible Burgundies–built for aging but so delicious young.
