Nestled into the side of Monserrat Mountain in Cataluña, Ca N’Estruc has been around in one form or another since the 1500s. Today, they draw on native varieties grown on their estate to produce easy-drinking cuvées that will make you long to explore Spanish “sobremesa” culture: the practice of extending the midday meal into the late afternoon with coffee, wine, and conversation. This blend of Garnacha, Cariñena, and Syrah is made from estate and bought fruit, fermented with native yeast, and boasts aromas of currants, raspberries, aromatic Mediterranean herbs, black pepper, and violets.
