Abbatucci VdF Faustine Blanc 2021

The wines of Corsica have come a long way in the past 60 years, and Jean-Charles has been a driving force behind that change. He’s one of a handful of rebel winemakers who shifted attention way from mass produced wines made with international grape varieties and refocused it on small production, sustainable farming, and indigenous grape varieties. His wines embody so much of what Dedalus believes in: honest farming and hard work in the service of superior wine.

The Faustine cuvées — named after Jean Charles’ daughter — give you a taste of the island’s energy. This wine is straw colored with aromas of white flowers, anise, a hint of peach, and ocean salinity.  The complex mouth is fresh, elegant, and mildly nutty with a long, mineral finish. This is classic Corsican Vermentinu at its best, from one of the island’s best producers.
