Due del Monte Friuli Colli Orientali Friulano 2019

Due del Monte is a young winery, but their wines have a soul and sense of place that feels much weightier. The project was started by two friends who fell in love with a tiny corner of the Collio region while on vacation. After a few years of collaborating with area winemakers, in 2018, they set up shop themselves. They bought a winery and a few hectares of old vines and got to work crafting minimal intervention, expressive wines.

Their Friulano is exactly as it should be — a welcoming, quaffable white that doesn’t sacrifice complexity for drinkability. It’s rippling with notes of fresh fruit and wildflowers and has a lengthy, satisfying finish.
