Picture a windswept desert made of clay and granite. One road runs through it. No towns, no cities. Just one hamlet and vineyards owned by the Giacometti family.
This place is the Agriates Desert. It sits in the northern part of the Island of Corsica known as the Patrimonio. The Giacometti's have been making wine here since the mid 1980’s. The wines deliver wild aromatics of strawberry and raspberry that have crushed with a pile of stone and oyster shell. The wines are generous and approachable but definitely have a little tannic edge to them. They are priced so incredibly well that this has been my go-to grab for mid-week consumption for a while know.
