Guy Breton Morgon P'tit Max 2020

Guy Breton, Beaujolais rockstar and natural wine pioneer, is known by his friends as Petit Max. Funny enough, “Little Max” is one of Guy’s most powerful wines. It’s made the exact same way as his old vine Morgon — from 140 year old vines — then ages for 12 months in barrel, where it develops a punchy, rugged attitude.

There are no additions in the vineyard or the cellar. The aromas are bell-like — clear and clean. You’ll find cherry, cassis, mint, and clove. It’s dense and complex, but without being weighty. Soft as velvet, in fact. This is a hands-off, natural representation of Beaujolais terroir that is a must-try for anyone interested in the region, the Gang of Four, or just really great wine.
