Nestled on a hill in the town of Barbaresco, is the ancient home and vineyards of La Ca'Nova, where fourth-generation winemaker Pietro Rocca, crafts incredible expressions of the Nebbiolo grape. This single vineyard bottling comes from one of the most coveted sites in Barbaresco, Montestefano which produces some of the most structured Barbarescos.
Pietro and his sons Marco and Ivan, own prime parcels situated at 270 meters above sea level with full southern exposures. They farm organically and shy away from modern practices - they do not use any technology to control temperature, instead, they rely on the fact that their cellars are situated deep underground. They favor Austrian oak over Slovenian, preferring the neutral, untoasted quality it imparts. They take great pride in their traditionally crafted wines which are unfiltered and demonstrate the classic structure and finesse of Barbaresco, all for a modest price.
