Stirm Cienega Valley White Calcite 2023

Who would have thought that when Ryan Stirm  went to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo on a wrestling scholarship he would end up with a degree in Wine & Viticulture! We’re so glad he did, because his studies eventually brought him to work in vineyards in Australia and Austria where he fostered his love for Riesling. Now, he’s working to  reestablish the grape as a powerhouse of the California winemaking scene.

In this cuvée, he blends Riesling with Chardonnay for a stunning white table wine. The rich, pillowy body of Chardonnay is given a big dose of electric juice from Riesling. Expect notes of orchard fruits and honey in this delightfully refreshing wine. Its name, Calcite, refers to the ancient limestone found in Ryan’s vineyards which layers in pretty mineral notes.
