Athénaïs de Béru & her winemaking embodies an estate, a family & four centuries of history that makes up Château de Béru. It’s a history marked by forward thinking & innovation. Farming 100% organically, her red Burgundy shows gorgeous ripe red fruit, spicy character & major drinkability.
The ripe, slightly jammy nose on this wine lends itself to a fleshiness on the palate. It’s round and full-bodied for Burgundy standards. Cyril Audoin is part of the next generation of Burgundy winemakers, and his energetic, outgoing personality is reflected in each bottle.
Prior to making wine, Pierre Fenals worked in the Parisian fashion industry. A lifelong passion for wine and an interest in all things biodynamic led to his success as a vigneron. Training with some of the greatest producers in Burgundy helped, too. His wines are pure, fresh and driven by place.
Bruno Colin’s Côte de Beaune Chardonnay is one of the very best jumping-off points for white Burgundy lovers we carry. All hallmarks of quality Burgundian chardonnay are present here: clean chalk-minerality, rich Chardonnay fruit, with just enough acidity to keep it all in balance.
Considered to be among Burgundy’s elite, Francois Carillon, makes some of the finest wines year in and year out. In contrast to the opulent styles the region is often known for, Carillon’s Puligny-Montrachet champions freshness and vivacity. This is a treat.
Chandon de Briailles Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses 2017
This historic estate was founded in 1834, and transitioned fully to organics in 1998, then biodynamics in 2005. The bouquet is fresh and detailed, featuring mineral-rich dark berry fruit laced with bay leaf and black tea. This wine is the essence of “terroir-expressive”.
This domaine is one of the best under-the-radar sources of truly fine White Burgundy in the entire region. Here, they coax incredible purity and complexity from their Chardonnay that is usually reserved for the region’s very best. Rich and unctuous, yet mineral and fresh. Drink this today or cellar for a few years.
Robert Chevillon’s wines have been described as “perplexing beauty”. He uses traditional practices in his winemaking, yet makes anything but cookie-cutter Burgundy. His old vine Nuits Saint Georges has elevated structure, pronounced acidity & pairs perfectly with braised lamb.
Ask any Burgundy nerd and they’ll tell you–Clos des Ducs is a de facto Grand Cru vineyard. Pair that up with one of the best winemakers and viticulturalists in France (Guillaume d’Angerville) and you have a real recipe for greatness if there ever was one. His 2017 is marvelous, fresh, and supremely elegant. It will live for decades in the cellar.

A staple at the shop and hands-down one of the best values in Burgundy that you are likely to find. Jean-Jaques Robert is a staunch defender of his terroir and translates the beauty of his vineyards microclimates with the finesse of a master painter. Often compared to the greater wines of the Cote de Beaune but at a fraction of the price. This wine is truly not to be missed.
Monsieur Fornerol’s Villages level wines seriously overdeliver. After spending most of his career in the vineyard and the cellar with some of the undisputed masters of Burgundy, he has learned a few tricks. This is rich and round Chardonnay with a layer of gently toasted oak beneath the zesty citrus core.
Dominique Lafon is the namesake of legendary Burgundy estate Comtes-Lafon, who craft some of the world’s most highly sought-after wines. He is in total control of all of the cellar work at this estate, and makes wines of vision and exuberance.
The village of Beaune produces some of the Côte de Beaune’s most enticing and inviting reds, and yet the city’s wines fly under the radar. Dominique Lafon’s ‘Vignes Franches’ is bold, bracing, and elegant. Bursting with notes of black currant, earth, and spice, drink this today or forget it in the cellar.
Dominique Lafon has been referred to as the “pied piper” of organic & biodynamic farming in the region of Burgundy & a true steward of the vineyard where every step of the winemaking process is hands-on. The Volnay is drinking well already, with it’s silken texture, fruit purity & weightlessness.
Grown in the Les Pruliers vineyard, this bottle is showing like many of Henri Gouges’ Pinot Noirs. Bold and unassuming, it has a ferocity that will be tamed with time. Ripe black currants, sultry smoke, and white button mushrooms are all found in this beautiful bottle to share.
The grapes for this Grand Cru bottling are destemmed 100%, allowing the purity of incredible quality fruit to shine through. These vine were planted in 1978 and make for truly magnificent intensity of flavor. Delicious tonight or in 15 years.
