The official appellation at the domaine is Bourgogne AOC, but the Domaine de la Cras is the sole producer allowed to use the designation Coteaux de Dijon. Winemaker Marc Soyard was chosen for his affinity towards hands-off winemaking and ability to make incredible complex, mineral-driven wines.

Jean Foillard is a celebrity in Beaujolais and his son, Alex, is proof the winemaking apple doesn’t fall far from the…. Vine? This bottle is filled with blood orange zest, juicy red berries, and a strong spine of minerality. Beautiful balance and finesse.

MSD, sandwiched between the more widely recognized villages of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, deserves more credit. It finds rhythm between the muscle of Gevrey and the elegance of Chambolle like a snare-and-high-hat. Dubands translation of this appellation is beautifully accurate.

Saint Aubin is most known for its red wines, but here is Chardonnay from incredibly old vines. Vines so old, in fact, they are getting ripped out in 2021 and replanted with new Chardonnay. This fruit is, therefore, incredibly concentrated in flavor and incredibly high in quality.

Blagny is often characterized by richness and this example is no exception. It is a full wine, with depth and structure, allowing it to age for quite a while. The wine is bone dry, yet exudes a honeycomb aroma, that when combined with the stony minerality in the glass, creates something of perfect harmony.

Jean-Marc Vincent may farm some of the Côte d’Or’s more humble vineyards, but make no mistake, he is one of the top tier winemakers in Burgundy, bar none. You might mistake his stunning Auxey Duresses for Premier Cru Meursault as we often do. It is top tier Burgundian juice with flair and class that usually demand twice the price as this gem.

Arbin appellation of the Savoie and enjoys a relatively warm, sunny climate for what is an otherwise alpine terroir. The resulting wines are fuller in body, making for an ideal union between alpine freshness and minerality, along with concentration and complexity. An absolute stunner!
