THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
A great line cook should be quick, focused, detail-oriented, and be able to remain calm under pressure. We are looking for ambitious, creative team players who are looking to create exciting food that goes great with wine. Dedalus seeks to create a jovial, celebratory atmosphere and a great cook is a key player in fostering that energy and enthusiasm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare food items as specified by recipes and instructed by sous and executive chef
Execute a la minute preparation of menu items, hot and cold
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization
Maintain poise and professionalism during busy periods of service
Assist in washing dishes
Record a nightly inventory of prep items for the prep team and restock station after service nightly
Possess or gain a basic knowledge of the products and dishes being served

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1 year of experience in a professional kitchen environment
Professional knife skills
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Must have nights and weekends available
Willingness to learn and to work within prescribed SOPs
Have a cool head
Work well with others
Organizational Skills
Attention to detail
Strong Communication skills
An interest in wine and service
A valid Vermont food handler’s card (ServSafe certification preferred)
